The New Year Begins

True got a haircut at his favorite quicktime barber in Hong Kong.

We took Mako for a family foot massage.

Mako and Anna visited a temple and made offerings to the gods.

Anna and the boys had high tea at the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong, something of a tradition.

In Tokyo, Anna, Sky and True ate their fill of sushi at a 'kaiten' (conveyor belt) place.

Anna, Sky and True also had dessert at a fancy Japanese coffee house.

A crepe cake!

They had shawls ready on the backs of chairs for patrons who found the air-conditioning too chilly.

Later, Anna and Sky communed with the owls at an owl cafe in Tokyo.

There were all kinds of owls.

Sky became an owl.

I would love to go and see these animals up close.

Odd owls.

True slept in a 'pod hotel' during his layover at Narita airport on his way back to New York.

True's pod.

After the boys left for New York, Anna and a friend were invited to dinner at a Somalian family's home - a new experience.

The boys returned to New York just in time for the record snowfall!
