Good Omens

Springtime is here and after a season of sadness there are good omens everywhere. Volunteer wildflowers - pink wood sorrel - have filled one of the pots on the balcony.

A crop of ornamental oranges are ripening there.

Crested minas have been visiting the balcony, the first birds I've seen close up since we moved in here. And yesterday, a butterfly came to call.


It was a Papilio helenus, also known as a Red Helen.
