On The Wall

I also spent the weekend at the Great Wall, though I slept in a nice hotel rather than under the stars. I got up early and hiked up to this section of the wall. It was beautiful and quiet.


This is from the top of the guard tower. I missed one bit of the panorama, which is blurred.


This is looking back to where the restored portion ends. It looks as though the wall climbed the mountain for a ways, but it wasn't clear to me if it continued up over the top. The wall isn't actually a single snaking line from end to end - it has many spurs, loops and disconnected bits.
