Anna And Boys In Japan

Anna and the boys went to Tokyo for a few days. The boys shared a beautiful room.

They went to Shinjuku to take in the sights.

They visited Uniqlo, their favorite clothing store.

They went to eat conveyor-belt sushi at this place.


They said it was delicious.

The boys had 31 plates of sushi between them at 136 yen a plate - cheap!


They visited the Meiji Shrine and washed their hands in the ceremonial spring.

They went to Harajuku.

They had crepes at the famous Marion's crepe stand there.

Later that evening, New Year's Eve, the hotel served complimentary toshi koshi soba, noodles for long life, with a tempura shrimp on top.

The boys enjoyed it before going out again to Asakusa to enjoy the festivities.


Asakusa was filled with traditional food stalls.

Here are roasted ayu, a kind of fish, which is salted and skewered to look like it is swimming upstream, and then roasted over charcoal.

Baby castella, bite-sized cakes - a popular festival version of castella, a cake brought to Japan by Portuguese merchants in the 16th century. The name is derived from Portuguese Pão de Castela, which means "bread from Castile."
