Hole in the Wall

True and I went to eat, quite literally, at a hole in the wall in Stanley today. It's a noodle shop accessed through a narrow passage in Stanley market. There's another way in, but I like going this way.

We had curry fish balls to start. They are a common Hong Kong snack.

Then we ordered beef brisket and turnip noodles in soup.

They were delicious.

We had iced coffee with the noodles.

The kitchen was full of steam.

The napkins are self-serve, hanging on the wall.

When we were done, we retraced our steps back to the market.

We went to sit and talk and have another drink at the cafe overlooking Stanley Beach. It was a blustery day. The lower flag behind True means there is a life guard on duty. The upper one is a warning that it's too rough to go in the water. In fact, though, this beach is relatively tame.

Back home, True 'resumed the position' for a while before doing some homework.
