True and I went for lunch at the Carnegie Deli on Seventh Avenue in Manhattan. We ordered pastrami sandwiches and True had two chocolate milks while I had two chocolate egg creams.

They serve two types of pickles with the sandwiches.

The cool, crisp pickles clear the palate and offer a wonderful counterpoint to the heavy, warm pastrami.

We had started the day at Cafe Duke on 51st Street, near the Times' apartment at which we were staying.

We ordered lox and cream cheese on toasted bagels, which we ate at the counter looking out on the street.

We also walked around a bit and visited Rockefeller Center.

It was a perfect day.

True was interested in watching the skaters.

We lingered there enjoying the view.
