Graduation!

Friday evening, high school done.

Sky started out for graduation on Friday afternoon with a last minute check of Facebook.

The boys use Facebook like we used telephones back in the day.

Then it was a rush downstairs.

And into the car.

And off to school. Sky took a self-portrait on the way.

I dropped him off, my last glimpse of him before the ceremony.

The next time we saw him, he was in cap and gown.

He looked great - and he looked happy.

They threw their mortar boards in the air when it was all over - though my camera missed that part. Sky was wearing a red honor cord because he had been a student ambassador. True will be one next year.

The fresh graduate.

He got a hug from his brother.

And a hug from his mother.

He took the baton and conducted the band for a bit.

He got a hug from his band teacher.

And from one third of his three-man improvisation troupe.

And hugs from many of the wonderful teachers he has had for the past four years.

And then it came to Doug Baker, his drama teacher, a wonderful man who has meant so much to us all.

There was a crowded, sweaty reception afterward in the cafeteria.

It was full of family and friends.

Including, Hunter.

Sky.
