I left Manhattan Saturday morning.

It was raining, threatening to turn to a small, white snow.

I crossed Park Avenue in the taxi ...

... and headed onto the Queensboro Bridge.

I watched Manhattan recede beneath a heavy sky.

Soon, we were across the East River - looking back toward the United Nations and, just beyond it, Kips Bay where General Howe landed British and Hessian troops in 1776 to take Manhattan Island.

The other side - Queens, near Silvercup Studios, the biggest film studio in New York housed in the old Silvercup Bakery building.
I landed in Hong Kong Sunday afternoon, early enough to go out to dinner with the family at our favorite Indian place.

We woke up on Monday to start a busy week.

Sky was a bit groggy.

Anna was up first, as always.

Sky needed some coaxing.

He emerged ...

... slightly irritated at his father's incessant photography.

Teresa had breakfast going.

Warm baguette for Sky.

Gluten-free pancakes for Anna.

A sandwich for True.

We ate and talked about the coming day.

True emerged from his shower, not too happy at having to face a camera!

Soon, all were dressed and the rush was on.

Hong Kong is still a bit chilly, though nothing like Beijing.

True likes long scarves these days.

Anna was on her way ... the blurred image represents how she appears to me these days - one of us is always on the move.

She made a final check of her emails before heading out.

True checked his school bag ...

... making sure he remembered everything.

Then came the shoes - we don't wear shoes in the apartment. They sit lined up on a little iron rack by the door.

Sky was preoccupied ...

... still telling me to put the camera down.

Anna had the car waiting downstairs.

True followed ...

... and off they went. I had a day of meetings and then headed back to the airport for a flight to Beijing. Goodbye!
