White Mountains, New Hampshire

True went on a backpacking trip along the Appalachian Trail in the White Mountains with a group of campers from Moosilauke. Here he is with his friend Rhys on top of Mount Liberty.

The elevation marker on top of Mount Liberty, the first of several peaks that the boys climbed in succession...

... Mount Liberty, Little Haystack, Mount Lincoln and finally Mount Lafayette, a 5,249-foot (1,600 m) peak at the northern end of the Franconia Range.

True and his friends on top of Mount Liberty.

A cairn on the top of Mount Lafayette.

They left behind their own mark.

Crossing a stream along the trail.

It was beautiful country and beautiful weather.

Mother Nature. True made a series of video logs during the hike, which are posted below.

Just starting out...

Atop Mount Liberty...

Little Haystack...

Mount Lincoln...

...and Mount Lafayette!
