Moosilauke
We arrived on Saturday at Camp Moosilauke, a boys idyll in the New Hampshire woods. Bill, the camp's owner, gave True a warm greeting.
After stopping at the nurse's station for a photo and a quick check for head lice, True led the way - stopping to throw a stone at the hollow stump by the stream, a camp tradition.
He led the way up Senior Hill, pointing out various landmarks...
...to find his cabin, the nearest in the row in the picture above.
Some other boys soon arrived, together with their counsellor. It wasn't long before True ushered me out and said goodbye so his freedom could officially begin.
