Korean Night Market
We went to a night market in Seoul to eat on our last night in Korea.
It was full of all sorts of things to eat.
Yes, the picture above is what it looks like. Sky took these pictures.
There were fried foods ...
... and dried foods.
And, of course, many, many kinds of kimchi, the ubiquitous Korean specialty made of vegetables pickled in chili paste.
There were many stalls at which to sit and eat ...
... on heated benches.
We chose this lady's stall. She served a variety of batter fried vegetables and fish.
One of her main implements was a pair of scissors. This is a short video of her cooking our meal.
The boys enjoyed it. We were travelling with another family whose son is a good friend of True.
We drank Makgeolli, a kind of milky, mild rice wine.
It is served in tin bowls.
Even Anna, who doesn't drink much, liked it.
The food wasn't much to look at, but it was delicious.
True ate everything ...
... with gusto.
Later, Anna stopped at another stall for dessert.
She ordered a sweet red bean and glutinous rice soup.
You add sugar.
She raved about it. The boys ate some, too.
This is Sky at the airport the next morning, wearing his Panmunjom hat.
