New York

I flew to New York to see the family. True was at camp. Anna and Sky were in Chappaqua.

The old routines were in force.

Anna and I went to the city and spent a night at The Greenwich Hotel, a beautiful place in Tribeca.

This is what the building looks like from the outside. There is a very good restaurant owned by the same group (whose marquee investor is Robert DeNiro) on the corner.

The rooms were comfortable and came with all the soft drinks, candy and snacks that you could eat. I remarked to Anna that they could afford to do this because the place caters to people worried about their weight. This picture is from the Internet.

We had a nice, relaxing time ...

... and a wonderful breakfast at the restaurant the next morning.

Sky and his friend Conor met me in the city the next day while Anna went to meet a playwright.

We walked through Times Square.

We went to the Museum of Modern Art. They boys saw all the famous paintings.

There was an interesting installation in one room.

Everyone who enters is measured against the wall and has their name and the date written there.

So Sky got measured ...

... as did Conor.

Later, we went to look for the names.

We could find Conor's, because he stands above the crowd. Sky, alas, seemed lost in the thicket.

We met back up with Anna and went to Madison Square Park downtown.

It is a beautiful park with a popular outdoor burger and shake restaurant called the Shake Shack.

Anna waited on a park bench while the boys and I waited in line.
