Sky's Scuba Trip To Thailand

Sky went scuba diving for a week with a group of students from school. it was one of about forty school trips that are offered to the high school students each year.

Above is a picture of a manta ray that they saw.

I think Sky picked the best trip. This is a picture I took of him at the airport while he was waiting to check in for the flight to Thailand.

These pictures were taken by another student on the trip. Here, some of the kids are playing a game.

This is the dive boat that they stayed on for a week. There were a little more than a dozen students on board.

Sky was psyched!

They went on several dives a day, starting at dawn. Before each dive, a dive master gave them a talk about where they would go.

Of course, they saw all sorts of sea life. This is a picture of a flying fish.

Sky loved it.

They jumped from the upper deck of the boat into the sea. Sky said he did it twice. In this picture, he's the one on the upper deck in the long, dark swim trunks.

One of the many highlights, he said, were the sea turtles.

The kids went swimming with them.

Sky says the turtles were very friendly, and kept bumping up against him.

So he got to see them up very close.

Otherwise, the kids hung around on deck between dives ...

... and entertained one another.

They even went on a night dive. Sky is the one holding the light that is shining upward.

It sounds as though it was a wonderful experience.
