This past Friday, I took True for a haircut.

It was his idea. Until now, he had not wanted to cut his hair.

It had gotten quite long.

We drove to Willie Leyba's shop in Auteuil, a part of the 16th Arrondissement south of us, and True explained what he wanted.

He went to have his hair washed ...

... and sat down ...

... and Willie began.

He ended up not cutting very much off. Afterward, we went to a candy store near Willie's shop. We go there after haircuts whenever the store is open. It's a traditional candy store, almost 100 years old.

True wanted to find some chocolate for his brother. He always thinks of Sky. He got dark chocolate for Sky, milk chocolate for himself and we got some chocolate covered citrus rinds for Anna and me.

True held his hands to his mouth with excitement as the store clerk shoveled chocolate into a sack. I love True's enthusiasm. It is truly genuine.

When we got home, he paused for me to take a picture before we went into our building. I liked how the orange candy bag matched his shirt.
