Thanksgiving
We had a lovely Thanksgiving. Anna cooked for two days and on Thursday evening, three families came for the big dinner. There were fifteen people in all.
We had a 9 kilogram turkey from the butcher down the street. He is a funny guy, always cheerful and loud, the way a butcher should be. He is delighted when we come in for our twice annual turkey purchase.
It was a bit of a squeeze at the table. The other famlies brought some food, too, so there was an abundance of good things to eat. We had a nice Brouilly wine to go with it.
True and his friends sat at a separate table. Besides the Fanta you see, they toasted the evening with "Champomy," carbonated apple juice that comes in a champagne bottle. True loves Champomy.
It was an interesting bunch - one British-American family, one Lebanese family and one Italian family. The kids eventually broke off to play cards and the adults talked and talked until about midnight. It was a great evening.
