Kicking A Ball With True

Sky is in Norway on a school-related trip and True's friends are mostly on vacation, so True and I went out to kick a ball this afternoon.

He began by reminding me how to kick a soccer ball.

He was in a very talkative mood.

He loves soccer.

He led the way. He goes often to play soccer with his friends on a wide lawn circled by roads in Porte de la Muette on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne.

This particular piece of land was once part of the grounds of the Chateau de la Muette, a favorite haunt of Marie Antoinette. The spot is where the Montgolfier brothers launched the first untethered, manned flight in a hot air balloon. I always imagine the balloon, 76 feet tall and made of silk taffeta, lifting off from where the boys play.

I've told True the story many times. He says he finds it very interesting.

We walked back home after an hour or so. The flowers outside our living room windows are looking very full. They always make me feel happy.
