Auschwitz

Sky came with me to Krakow for a story that I'm writing on the resurgence of Jewish culture in Poland. We went with a small group to Auschwitz today.

I was there for the 60th anniversary of the camp's liberation in 2005. I wasn't really able to visit the camp that time.

This is Sky, contemplating the ruins of one of the gas chambers in Auschwitz II.

It is, of course, a deeply troubling place. Sky handled it well, though.
