Palm Desert and Disneyland

On the way back to Shanghai, we stopped for a few days in California. A travel agent had suggested a place in Palm Desert, which turned out to be a vacation condo complex. It was deserted because it was winter.

But there was a nice zoological park nearby that we took the boys to and otherwise just drove around in the hills and through the town, enjoying a bit of America.

The pool at the complex wasn't heated so the boys couldn't swim, but the bath water was crystal clear - a novelty for us after a couple years of Shanghai's tinted water.

A couple of spoons and some cups and the boys were as happy as boys can be.

We would never allow this in Shanghai, where we had to keep telling them not to drink the water in the bath.

After a couple of days we moved for a night to a hotel at Disneyland. The boys were mesmerized by the place. I love the expression on True's face here when Beauty stopped to have her picture taken with them at breakfast.
